Matthieu Schapira
Target 2035 invited speaker Matthieu Schapira is the Head of Research Informatics and Principal Investigator at the Toronto Node of the Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC), a multinational public-private partnership that supports the discovery of new medicines through protein-based open access research. In addition, he holds an Associate Professor cross-appointment with the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at University of Toronto. Matthieu has a strong background in protein crystallography, structure-based drug design and computational chemistry. His group develops computational and molecular tools to explore the druggable genome by using structural bioinformatics to navigate protein structures at genome scale and computational chemistry to support the discovery of chemical probes for proteins.
