Melissa Brown 11th Annual Conference of the International Chemical Biology Society 2022

Melissa Brown

Melissa Brown completed her PhD at the University of Adelaide. After postdoctoral studies at the University of British Columbia with Prof Bob Hancock, she returned to Australia at The University of Sydney working with Prof Ron Skurray. She moved her research group to Flinders University where she is now a Professor of Microbiology. The Brown group primarily focuses on understanding the molecular basis of multidrug recognition by efflux pumps that actively transport toxic antimicrobial compounds from the bacterial cell. Prof Brown is a Fellow of both the Australian Society for Microbiology and the American Academy of Microbiology.
