Rebecca Coll

Dr Rebecca Coll is a Lecturer in Immunobiology at the Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine at Queen’s University Belfast. Her research focus is inflammasomes and how they can be targeted to treat inflammatory diseases. Rebecca led the biological characterisation of the small molecule NLRP3 inhibitor MCC950, which is the most widely used tool compound in the field (Coll et al., Nature Medicine, 2015; Coll et al. Nature Chemical Biology, 2019), and is a co-inventor on licensed patents pertaining to NLRP3 inhibitors. Rebecca was honoured with a Research Australia Discovery award in 2016 and a Regeneron New Investigator Award from the International Cytokine and Interferon Society in 2021.
